미국 신시내티 대학교 수리과학과 송성호 교수가 오는 7월 10일 APEC 기후센터(APCC)를 방문한다. 송성호 교수는 “Understanding and Application of Bayesian Statistics”라는 제목으로 오전 11시 APCC 2층에 위치한 에델바이스 회의실에서 세미나를 주재한다.

5. Abstract
Statistics is the science that relates data to specific questions of interest and draws general conclusions from the uncertainty of data. Statistical science gives us methods and tools for doing this, despite the uncertainty in the data. Thomas Bayes first discovered the theorem, called Bayes' Theorem, in 1763. Since then, many statisticians have developed a complete method of statistical inference based on Bayes' theorem. Now, as Bayesian statistics gets more and more popular to convince people in many fields including Statistics, Biomedical Sciences, Climate Sciences, Econometrics, etc. I would like to help you to understand Bayesian statistics in this presentation. In addition, the advantages of the Bayesian approach compared to the classical approach will be presented. Finally, I will give an example (Surface Elevation) related to Spatial Statistics.
