The APEC Climate Center (APCC) will host the 2026 Young Scientist Support Program (YSSP 2026) from June 17 to July 13, 2026, at its headquarters in Haeundae, Busan. The program welcomes five officers from the National Meteorological Services of five Pacific Island Countries (PICs) for capacity building and hands-on experience in climate research and forecasting.

This initiative is part of the “Enhancing Climate Information and Knowledge Services for resilience in 5 island countries of the Pacific Ocean (CIS‑Pac5)” project. Proposed by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and implemented with APCC’s expertise, the project is funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The five participating nations are the Cook Islands, Niue, Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Tuvalu.
