The APEC Climate Center (APCC) successfully conducted the 2025 Young Scientist Support Program (YSSP 2025) from September 3 (Wednesday) to September 30 (Tuesday), 2025, at its headquarters in Haeundae, Busan. As part of the program, four operational climate forecasters from the National Meteorological Services of four Pacific Island Countries (PICs) were invited to APCC, where they participated in training and hands-on sessions related to climate research and operations.

This initiative is part of the “Enhancing Climate Information and Knowledge Services for Resilience in Five Pacific Island Countries (CIS‑Pac5)” project, proposed by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and implemented with the participation of APCC. The project is funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and the five target Pacific Island Countries are Palau, the Cook Islands, Niue, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Tuvalu.
