APCC Hosted the Joint Conference of 2023 APEC Climate Symposium and Asia Pacific Climate Services Workshop with CWA

APEC Climate Center (APCC) and Central Weather Administration (CWA, Chinese Taipei) co-hoted the joint conference of 2023 APEC Climate Symposium (APCS) and Asia Pacific Climate Services Workshop (APCSW) at the CWA’s international conference room on 17 –19 October 2023. the theme of the joint conference was “Enhancing Energy Security in a Changing Climate for a Resilient Future in APEC”.
The APCS 2023 was held to see better and resilient ways to enhance energy security in the face of climate change by sharing the insights and experiences from academia, government, public and private sectors, and more.
During APCS 2023, Industry and experts in the energy and climate fields at home and abroad, as well as officials from governments and international organizations, shared and discussed ways to increase the role and level of utilization of climate information, and to enhance energy security in the Asia·Pacific area, experiencing the climate change.
Meanwhile, APCC and CWA co-hosted the APCC Working Group Meeting 2023 on 17 October 2023 prior to APCS 2023 to share damage cases caused by extreme climate and response plans using climate prediction information, and discuss the need and direction of development of extreme climate prediction technology in the APEC region in the APEC region.
