Ms. Sangwon Moon, head of External Affairs Department and Ms. Inja Jeon, Researcher of the same department from the APEC Climate Center (APCC), attended the 18th APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology, and Innovation (PPSTI) meeting between 25 and 26 August, 2020 through video conferencing system.

PPSTI is an APEC working group consisting of government personnel from APEC member economies and experts in science and technology from academia and the private sector. It is the primary forum that supports the development of science, technology, and innovation in APEC.

The awards ceremony for the 2021 APEC Science Prize for Innovativation, The The 2021 APEC Science Prize for Innovation, Research and Education (ASPIRE) was held during the 18th APEC PPSTI Meeting. TASPIRE is an annual award which recognizes young scientists who have demonstrated a commitment to both excellence in scientific research, as evidenced by scholarly publication and cooperation with scientists from other APEC member economies.

The 2021 APEC Research & Technology (ART) Seminar was also held during the 18th APEC PPSTI Meeting. The theme of the 2021 ART Seminar was “Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Policy Cooperation among APEC Member Economics for The Resilient and Sustainable System after COVID-19”.
